Condition

Overall the condition of the casket is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age and handling. There are a few losses to the certosina, including to some of the pieces of horn and bone to the top of the lid. There may be some replacements/ reattachments to the certosina. The grain is visible in areas of the bone, consistent with material, and there are a few stable cracks and fissures to the bone. The key is lost and the inside lining is of a later date. The hinges and lock may be later.
