Catalogue Note

Both copies inscribed by the poet, President Léopold Sédar Senghor of Senegal. The Nouvelles éditions africaines issue reads: "A Monsiuer et Madame Robert McNamara | des poèmes pour hauter la beauté | de la Femme sur le versant de l'âge" and is dated 11 February 1974. The Edition du Seuil issue is inscribed solely to Robert McNamara and is dated 14 November 1977.  Both issues are on vélin Mazarine of which 2,000 copies were printed from a total edition of 2,360.
