Folio with wide margins (444 x 270mm), engraved frontispiece ("Domus Orationis") by D. Loggan dated 1714, red ruled margins throughout, contemporary black panelled morocco gilt, the covers with the centrepiece stamp of the arms of George II added later, two gilt roll and fillet panels, ornamental foliate sprays and cornerpieces, a wide border incorporating the royal cipher of George II at the corners, inside dentelles, spine richly gilt in eight compartments, remains of two silk ties, comb marbled endpapers, covers rubbed, rebacked with new free endpapers, occasional light staining

A lavish ornamental binding, with the arms of George II, on a finely printed Book of Common Prayer by John Baskett, the King's printer. Another copy of this book in an identical binding is found in the British Library (shelfmark 11g2).
