The colours are fairly accurate to the illustration in the catalogue but the yellow is certainly richer in the original and the blues are deeper and more varied.
This work is in very good condition. There are light tension cracks along the outer edges. There is a slight pattern of craquelure caused by the natural drying process of the artist's materials. These are most noticeable in the dark blue pigments in the left of the composition and are entirely stable.
There is a slight film of surface dirt. The paint surface fluoresces unevenly under ultra-violet light due to the artist's materials but there is no evidence of any retouching.
