Condition

Oil on paper mounted on canvas. Overall this work is in good condition and it is ready to hang. Under ultraviolet light there are no visible retouchings and the varnish fluoresces opaquely, however given the work's appearance under normal light it is unlikely that there are any extensive retouchings. There is a tiny spot of paint flaking in the right of the sky and an area where the paper has raised up, with some associated craquelure, in the extreme lower left corner (both just visible in the catalogue illustration). Held in a simple gilt frame. The catalogue illustration is overall accurate, however the greens are richer and the rocks less yellow in reality.
