Les bouchons de calebasse Pende étaient en général ornés de motifs géométriques. Rares sont ceux offrant, comme ici, une sculpture figurative. Voir Sotheby's (Londres, 8 novembre 1976) pour un bouchon comparable acquis par le Los Angeles County Art Museum.
