gouache heightened with gold on paper, depicting two nightingales perched on the spines of a rose bush, with insects floating above, ruled in gold, with outer marbled borders, the reverse with a composite page comprising a miniature depicting two men in conversation, a further miniature of a rose stem, surmounted with gold-flecked paper and marbled outer borders 

In good overall condition, a few minor stains, otherwise colours vivid and gold bright, as viewed.
