Condition

Very good condition for an object of this type and age. Marks, nicks, scratches, and abrasions throughout consistent with age and use. Small chip to top proper left of finial figure. Break through top lid repaired with irregular metal staples (native repair). Middle element with age crack and loss to rim on one side. Bottom section with hairline age cracks and two metal plate repairs, one to rim and the other covering a knot in the wood inside the bottom of the bowl. Metal rusted with residue surrounding. Knot in foot. Insect damage to underside. Surface oily and rubbed. Fine medium reddish and varied brown patina.
