Condition
The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.:
This painting has recently been restored and should be hung in its current state. The canvas has been lined using Beva-371 as an adhesive. The paint layer is stable. It is cleaned, retouched and varnished. Under ultraviolet light, a diagonal line of restorations from the ear of cupid extending into his head has been retouched. This is certainly an isolated and well restored area. There seem to be no other restorations to the remainder of the picture, except for a spot in the far bank of the river on the right. The condition is extremely good.
