Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 30 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a reasonable number in proportion to the vast number of glass tiles which were required to execute this complex and monumental shade. As is commonly seen with this model, a few of the bottom irregular panicles are gently bent inward but all appear stable. The top bronze armature of the shade is finely cast and displays an exceptionally deep and rich green and russet brown patina, with some gentle rubbing to some of the high points of the armature. The Tree Trunk base is in excellent condition, also displaying exceptional well defined details to the casting, and a particularly deep and rich green and russet brown patina. The patinated bronze surfaces with very minimal gentle rubbing and a few very minor surface scratches consistent with age and gentle use. The sockets and base switch appear original and undisturbed. The shade armature, base standard, underbase and base plate are all impressed with the same production number (10116), reinforcing that the shade and base originated together since the period. A superb example of this iconic model, displaying an outstanding deeply saturated and vibrant cobalt blue glass selection, well defined wisteria clusters, and an interesting use of translucent aqua blue accents along the lower register of the shade. The lamp displays beautifully in person, displaying a high level of visual interest, warmth and luminosity.
