Catalogue Note

A fine copy in the very rare jacket of the first edition of Joyce's great autobiographical novel, published by Huebsch in New York on 29 December 1916. The English Egoist edition - using American sheets because English printers would not accept the responsibility of printing it - appeared on 12 February the following year.
