Condition

The panel is sound and is very slightly warped. There is a small protrusion to the wood surface in the upper left corner. There is a small surface marking to the background near the centre of the left edge and the varnish is uneven in places. There is a white residue visible to the grain of the board, notably to the black area in the lower right quadrant. Otherwise the work is in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals an uneven varnish and a few specks of fluorescence in the background, but these do not appear to be retouchings. Held in a gilt plaster frame with a painted and gilt inset.
