Condition

Original canvas, which is slightly loose on the strecher. There is a light layer of dirt and slightly discoloured vanish. There are fine lines of craquelure throughout. There is abrasion to the paint surface along the edges and to the corners. There are small flecks of paintloss and surface scratches in places. UV light reveals retouching along the edges and to the corners with some apparent retouching to the middle ground of the right hand side. Held in a simple black frame. Unexamined out of frame.
