Catalogue Note

Number 21 of 750 copies, in a fine Cosway binding with a large portrait of Alexander Pope on ivory by C. B. Currie. The binding is numbered "925" and signed by J. H. Stonehouse and Miss Currie on a leaf bound before the half-title. Dark brown crushed morocco, the portrait surrounded densely with two repeated goldstamps, green watered-silk pastedowns and endleaves, turn-ins richly gilt, by Rivière & Son, in a green cloth slipcase.
