Condition

Overall good restored condition; the marble top probably associated, though appears to have age; the marble top with old repaired breaks and with some infilling to diagonal cracks; the top with some small chips and losses to edges and with usual wear and rubbing. The top of the frieze of the table appears to have been planed or cut down slightly; small chips to the veneers of frieze and with some patches to the veneer especially around the bow and with some lifting; the frieze appears to have been French polished; the surface appears to have been cleaned and now with a later glossy surface; the boards of the frieze with slight bowing, consistent with age; the feet are laminated consistent with age and period construction; the table appears always to have had a marble top and not a wood top. Overall with some old marks, scratches, nicks and bruises; some minor areas of old worm damage to the pine blocks behind the carving.
