Together with Robert Hills, An Oak Tree, pencil on wove paper, inscribed with artist's notes center right and Samuel Jackson, A Woodland Pool, brown wash heightened with scratching out on wove paper and Henry Moses, The Artist's Wife Looking Out to Sea, brown wash and pen and brown ink over pencil on wove paper, dated Aug.st 10th. 1844 lower left and further inscribed Mrs M sitting on the Rocks lower centre. 4 works.

Condition

The first: Beech Trees, Knole Park, Kent: This sheet has been carefully preserved and presented. The work has not been laid down but is hinged to the present mount at two places along the upper sheet edge. There is some minor surface dirt and slight staining overall. The medium remains clear. The second: An Oak Tree: The sheet has been carefully preserved and presented. The sheet is not laid down but carefully hinged to the present mount at the sheet edges. There is very minor surface dirt and minor scattered foxing overall, some of which is visible from the catalogue illustration. The pencil has remained clear, clean and strong. The third: A Woodland Pool: The sheet has been carefully preserved and presented. The work has not been laid down but hinged to the present mount along the sheet edges. The medium has remained strong and clear with very minor fading overall. The Fourth: The Artist's wife Looking Out to Sea: The sheet has been carefully preserved and presented. The work has not been laid down but hinged along the upper sheet edge. There is some minor surface dirt to the sheet edges and a small area of discolouration in the upper centre of the composition. The medium has remained strong and clear.
