in the Renaissance manner, the lid with four pairs of cupids at play interspaced by stylized masks, the body carved in the round with a procession of Cybele on a chariot drawn by lions and followed by her retinue, above a banding with a grapevine and pomegranates, the stem with cupid busts between two silver cartouches, the foot with another set of four pairs of cupids at play, the base signed to the underside Hans Peter & / Gebr. Kauzmann / Geifslingen.
Condition
In very good condition. With no losses to gem stones, with some minor losses to dark green enamels. The ivory is very finely carved and has a beautiful milk-like color. With the usual overall tarnishing to silver. The mounts have traces of former gilding.
