Catalogue Note
After fleeing Paris in 1848 William Morel established himself briefly in London, becoming noted for the fine quality of his work. He exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851. 'WN' may be William Newberry, based in Greek Street, whose mark was registered in 1835.
