Condition
The catalogue illustration is representative for the actual painting.
The small single panel is in good condition. The paint layer is generally sound, and no damages are apparent. Some very tiny retouchings can be made out with the naked eye in the background, in Mary's scarf and in the child's face. The paint surface is under a clear layer of varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals some additional tiny scattered retouchings along the edge in the background and in the figure of Christ, which appears to have been a vertical (surface) scratch.
Offered in a plain wood frame in good condition.
