Condition

The support consists of a single, stable panel, bevelled around the edge and with a very very slight convex bow. The paint surface is secure and in good condition, with remaining impasto from the original paint strokes evident under a dirty varnish. Scattered old discoloured retouchings are visible in the sky and to a lesser extent in the ice whilst the figure groups are largely untouched, as confirmed by inspection under UV light. Offered in a black painted circular wooden frame in good condition.
