Condition

The single panel support has a bow of approximately 1 cm. The paint surface is secure and to the naked eye appears in fair condition with the details of the black dress well preserved. Inspection under UV light reveals retouchings along the outline of the hat and scattered in the left part of the face, around the eyes and on the chin. A hairline vertical crack runs through the temple and some light retouching has been applied along this as well as some other minor scattered retouchings. Offered in a later wooden frame with some scuffs.
