Condition

The actual painting is cooler in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single piece of panel is nice and stable and bevelled on all sides, which have been enlarged by a small strip of wood to fit the frame. The paint surface is in good condition. A few tiny discoloured retouchings can be seen in the breastplate upper right. The varnish layer fluoresces partly under UV light, but does reveal a few tiny retouchings in the background, 3 tiny ones in the woman's face and a small area along the upper left edge. Offered in a black, cabinet-style frame.
