Condition

Relined. painting was originally rectangular and has been made up as an oval and additions are visible on all four sides. there are a few small gouges with some paint loss on costume at lower center. there is some slight thinness noticeable to right side of hair, ear, side of jaw and right side of costume (in shadow), however overall the painting still reads well and presents a very pretty image. under UV: there is retouching along seams of the additions at all four sides; some retouching can be seen on forehead and nose, and some inpainting of craquelure scattered on cheeks and mouth. In an elaborately carved and gilt wood frame with some nicks and losses.
