Good and stable overall condition. Colors slightly brighter than in catalogue illustration. This painting has recently undergone conservation. A few minute tears on the lower edge have been repaired as have a few pinholes on the lower right quadrant and a tiny hole at the center of the painting. Abrasion to pigment in two small spots on the lower left have been filled in. The painting has been lightly cleaned and laid down on acid free backing paper. Exhibited in a temporary frame.

During the decade of the 1920s Gaganendranath became interested in the cubist experiments being practiced by contemporary Western modern artists and developed an unconventional vision of Cubism that was his own.

In the present work, the artist utilizes a delicate palette of diffused blue-gray and white tones applied in a prismatic, Cubist manner to create a deeply moving and personalized rendition of this spiritual subject.
