Catalogue Note

"Nature has its clearly defined forms which, whilst being similar to one another, are never identical. Forms that are geometrical, plastic, organic, and also such forms which are the work of time and were there before history began – all these forms must be present in the composition of a painting." (the artist cited in: Serge Poliakoff, Cahier I, Saint-Gall 1973)
