Condition

Canvas has been strip lined. A web of thin stable cracking is visible in areas of thicker pigment on the right side of the canvas (in the depicted blue curtain). Under UV light: the top quarter of the work (depicting the sky) has undergone extensive inpainting. A long band of inpainting is visible across the center of the top edge, and this inpainting extends downward, further into the sky in a series of larger strokes and pindot retouches. There are two areas of repair: one 1 in. repaired tear in the center of the top fourth of the canvas and one pindot repair 5 in. from the left and 5 in. below the top of the canvas. There are a few strokes of inpainting in one of the houses near the center of the canvas, as well as a few pindot retouches and strokes in the lower part of the curtain and along the bottom fourth of the canvas. Overall the work is in good condition.
