• jewelled nickel lever movement, striking hammers repeating on gong • engraved gilt cuvette • engraved gilt dial, Turkish numerals within silvered discs, engraved leaf design to the chapter ring, eccentric subsidiary seconds at 3 o'clock • cover with polychrome enamel portrait of the Sultan Abdulmecid I within an engraved scrolling boarder highlighted with diamonds, the rear cover with polychrome enamel scene of the Mosque of St. Sophia in Constantinople within an engraved scrolling boarder, the edges with translucent green enamel on an engine-turned ground • case, dial, cuvette and movement signed, dial signed by the retailer Nacib K. Djezvedjian & Son, Constantinople • with an associated 9k yellow gold chain
Condition
The movement is running and repeating at the time of cataloguing, however it may benefit from a service to be well preserved. The Turkish numerals to the subsidiary dial are worn and there is a slight scuff to the silvered disc at 9 o'clock. The enamel scenes have some slight scuffs but are overall in good condition. The green enamel to the edges have signs of restoration. This is an extremely fine quality watch made for the Turkish market.
