Catalogue Note

With its distinctive angular lugs and square buttons, this model, Ref. 1579, is among Patek Philippe's most iconic chronograph wristwatches. The first known example of this model dates to 1943, examples from this first generation differ from the later examples in that the enamel baton indexes were replaced around 1950 by applied square indexes.

Having the prestigious retailer's signature of Haussman & Co on the dial adds to the rarity and the value of the piece as only a few dials were produced for the famous Italian retailer.
