Catalogue Note

Abraham Louis Breguet, (1747-1823), was one of the most important and highly regarded watchmakers of all time. Although best known for his watches, Breguet produced a number of clocks. This clock is a fine example of the elegant simplicity which he combined with fine craftsmanship in so many of his pieces.

A similar example is described and illustrated in Daniels, George, The Art of Breguet, 1974, Pages 80-81 and 204, together with extensive details of Breguet and his work.
