Condition

Overall excellent condition. It appears that the secretaire has a later French polish coating to the exterior surfaces. The surface of the secreataire is shiny as a result. With some minor shallow surface scratches to the case, which are consistent with use. The ivory elements are in excellent condition and in a consistent white color. The ivory carvings on this example are rendered in beautifully detail. One of the scroll details to the proper right top portion of the case has been recently sensitively re-glued by a professional restorer to replace an old glue restoration to this area. The ivory element is presently stable. The interior is fitted in leather of a vivid red tone and with small ivory pulls to the doors in the upper register of the interior. With some minor adhesive residue and discoloration to the interior of the small fitted leather doors, which is not visible when the doors are closed. Scattered surface dirt to the interior. With one key. The wood selection on this chiffonier is superb showing great detail and more distinct coloration in the figuring than what appears in the catalogue illustration. A truly superb design heightened by the extraordinary wood selection.
