Description

  • opal, diamond, metal and seed pearl
Of pierced open work design, set to the centre with a pear-shaped cabochon opal, highlighted with brilliant-, single-cut and rose diamonds, accompanied by a woven seed pearl necklace, length approximately 455mm, shortened, accompanied by a fitted case, part illustrated.

Condition

White opal with strong play of colour, cracks to surface. Seed pearl necklace has been shortened probably originally from a sautoir, the principal length measuring approximately 455mm, one thread broken, together with several additional lengths, could benefit from being professionally re strung. Seed pearls white, medium lustre. Diamonds bright and lively. Black enamel scratched to some parts. Secure hinged hoop. Trace of soldering at the back. Scratches to mount consistent with wear. In good condition.
