Condition
There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a large stable split running from the ground at the right of the Virgin's proper left foot, through the lap of Christ to the Virgin's upper abdomen. There are several further smaller stable cracks and splits consistent with the material, including one running from the Virgin's proper right foot to the drapery at the right side of the Virgin's abdomen. There is evidence of worming throughout, with areas of particular worming at the Virgin's feet, to the bottom of the drapery, to the ground, and to Christ's face and right leg. Christ's right hand has been lost. The crucifix from Christ's orb has been lost. The top of the object held in the Virgin's right hand and the Virgin's coronet have both been lost. There is a naturally occurring knot in the wood at the Virgin's right shin. There are four wood pins in the Virgin's back. There is dirt and wear to the base, particularly at the edges, and evidence of worming. There are two drill holes, one at either side of the base. Otherwise the condition is good.
