Description

  • THUYA, MAHOGANY, TULIPWOOD, WALNUT EBONY, BEECH, LEATHER
  • 73.5cm. high, 129cm. wide, 64cm. deep; 2ft. 5in., 4ft. 2¾in., 2ft. 1¼in.
with a tooled leather inset top above three frieze drawers and a pair of cupboard doors each enclosing four drawers, with three open shelves to the reverse, the locks stamped `CHUBB`S PATENT 87 ST PAUL`S RD/LONDON/ MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY/ 196333'

Condition

Good original condition. Some fading to timbers. The leather to the top is worn and split with some consequent losses. There are age cracks to the top and losses to the cross banding throughout. The rear left hand panel has age cracks and some losses to veneers. Minor scuffing and chips to the base. A very attractive desk.
