on circular foot, the almost hemispherical body flat-chased with Chinoiserie scenes between matted panels, the underside engraved with the initials L over F*A

Condition

Marks and condition good with the exception of a few very minor dents and a very small solder repair to a 5mm crack in one of the panels; the flat-chased Chinoiserie figures are parciularly good; the bowl has very slightly sunk into the foot. The maker's mark BB, a crescent below, is struck on the only surviving 17th Century maker's mark plate at Goldsmiths' Hall, which comprises marks registered between 23 February 1675 and 15 April 1697.
