Description

  • Enameled and gem-set
hilt of talwar form with broad cross-guard and shaped quillons, curved grip and disc pommel, with precious settings on enamelled green and blue grounds, with stylised flowerheads on leafy gold stems set with foil-backed gemstones, cut diamonds and cabochon rubies, the underside of the disc pommel decorated with finely enamelled floral design with alternating white and green grounds, the top with a large stylised flowerhead comprised of further diamonds and rubies radiating outwards from a central blue domed element topped with a ribbed finial in green enamel

Condition

In overall good condition, with minor surface discoloration due to ware, consistent with age, slight loss to the wooden interior, as viewed.
