the opening panel comprising four lines of Persian text cut out of paper and laid down on a stencilled ground, signed at the bottom, ruled with a thick gold border, inner margins decorated with floral motifs in gold; the second panel with similar calligraphy cut out and laid on plain paper, corresponding borders, the pages enclosed within stout polychrome ebru boards with marbled doublures

Condition

In reasonably good overall condition, the opening calligraphy with some staining to the lower three lines, a few further marginal stains, although déoupage cut-outs intact, the other calligraphy also with a few stains but intact, slight abrasion to the spine, but boards and doublures in goof condition, as viewed.
