  • Ink, Gouache & Gold on Paper
Arabic manuscript on paper, 170 leaves plus 2 flyleaves, 19 lines to the page, written in black naskh script, verses separated by small gold florets, surah headings in red ink on gold ground cartouches, marginal illuminations, opening illumianted double page frontispiece decorated with light blue and gold grounds sprinkled with polychrome flowers, further double page with large leafy scrolls in gold in the outer margins, and text within cloudbands against a gold ground, lacquer binding depicting flowering plants, with red doublures decorated with scrolling vines in gold  

Condition

In good overall condition, one or two minor abrasions to lacquer binding, cracquelure, interior pages generally clean, illumination and colours bright, as viewed.
