  • Height 5 7/8 in. 15 cm.
of ovoid form with finely contoured foot, tubular handles, and fragmentary everted rim.

Collection of Royall Tyler (1884-1953), Paris
then by descent to the current owner

 

Royall Tyler was an art historian, collector, and international financial expert based in Paris. In the 1920s and 30s he assembled a collection of early Egyptian, Persian, and Byzantine art, acquired mainly from dealers in Paris such as Dikran Kelekian and Joseph Brummer.

Condition

As shown and described. Rim damaged as noted. One handle chipped at one end, small chip on edge of foot. Otherwise very good.
