- 56.5 cm; 28 cm
modeled with a pair of puttoi sitting on a naturalistic base with grapevines, raising aloft the glass trays, each base stamped H.PICARD to the underside. One tray cracked and with a minor loss to the edge.
Condition
Overall in good condition with minor tarnishing to gilt-bronze. please note that one lower glass dish has a long crack and loss of approximately 2 1/2 wide by 1 1/4 inch. to its rim

Catalogue Note
The renowned Parisian fondeur and doreur Henri Picard was recorded at 6, rue Jarente in 1831, and moved to 10, rue de la Perle in 1839 where he remained until 1864. During that time, Picard supplied objects for Emperor Napoleon III's apartments at the Louvre, and was reputed for his fine quality decorative production of pièces de table and garnitures de cheminée.
