Condition

Overall in excellent original condition. The hand-hammered amber glass panels all appear original and undisturbed, and are in excellent condition, with some occasional light surface scratches and some minor irregularities inherent in the making. The hand-hammered copper surfaces throughout on the shade, ceiling cap and hardware all retain their original rich russet brown patina and display superb vigorous hammering. The copper surfaces throughout with minor surface scratches, abrasions, surface soiling, and a few isolated traces of surface oxidation. All of the copper and wrought-iron hanging hardware is original to the chandelier (including the chains, rings and ceiling cap), displaying light surface dirt and minor dullness consistent with age. Please note that the patina on the wrought iron chains is consistent throughout; the upper register of chains appears slightly over lit in the catalogue illustration. The sockets and bakelite switch appear original and undisturbed. The switch has been thoughtfully placed in the central rosette of the shade battens, with a three-part switch that allows for the sockets to be turned on individually. The very top edges of the copper ceiling cap with minor traces of old house paint. Please feel welcome to contact the department for additional professional photographs of this chandelier. A superb example of this exceedingly rare Stickley uplighter, with impressive visual presence.
