Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is creamier and less white in the original work. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There are scattered handling marks to the painted wooden backing board’s edges and corners. There are several spots of wear and small paint / media losses to the outer edges of the front-most papier mache relief, most notably to the lower left and lower right corners, and in several places along the bottom edge. Some of these have associated small stable cracks and areas of isolated lifting. There are scattered fine rub marks and further small stable cracks in places to the front grill surface, as well as in places around the edges of the relief, most notably to the right section of the top edge. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
