of shield form, the front enamelled in opaque red and set with a cast and chased gold Imperial eagle, a gold cogwheel with two crossed hammers and inscribed in Cyrillic: 'Mechanical plant of Ludwig Nobel', the reverse of opaque blue enamel set with Roman numeral XL on a white enamel ground within a laurel border, dated 1862-1902 above a ribbon dedicated to 'G.T. Fredrikson', struck KF in Cyrillic, 56 standard
