  • marked with workmaster's initials, Fabergé in Cyrillic (partially obscured), and 56 standard. Also with scratched inventory number 60117. With fitted box.

of compressed circular form, with gold mounts, the hinged cover set with diamonds in pattern of scrolls around the edge

Provenance

Emperor Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna purchased this bonbonnière together on August 11, 1898.  The bill for 145 rubles was split between their accounts.  We are grateful to Tatiana Fabergé and Svetlana Chestnykh for assistance in cataloging this lot.

Condition

overall good condition; the mounts of the gemstones would benefit from cleaning. Some evidence of gilding on the (silver) mounts
