Description

  • Venice, the entrance to the grand canal with the dogana and the church of Santa Maria della Salute to the left

Condition

The colours are a little brighter than they appear in the catalogue illustration. The canvas has been relined. The paint surface is secure and relatively clean. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered retouchings in the water and buildings. The sky is largely untouched apart from a 1 cm long old restored damage in the right hand cloud. Offered in a carved wood and plaster frame in fair condition with some losses.
