Condition
The actual painting is less red in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The panel seems to consist 2 planks joined horizontally, but it is unclear because of the cradleing. There are a few tiny paint losses to the lower centre and in the lower right corner and there's some minor tendency towards flaking in the centre and centre right. Otherwise, the paint layer appears well preserved with a lot of detail still intact. Inspection under UV light reveals some small retouchings in the centre in the background, along the upper edge and in the lower left corner, but further inspection is impeded by a dirty varnish layer.
Offered in a decorative gilt plaster and wood frame in good condition.
