Condition

Sold in carved and gilded wooden frame. Laid down at edges on board. Some light foxing throughout but otherwise condition is fine, the ink strong.

Catalogue Note

Morassi proposed a late date for the present drawing, as did James Byam Shaw.  The composition is very similar to a late painting by Guardi, formerly with Thomas Agnew & Sons Ltd., London.1
