Catalogue Note
Avec une remarquable maîtrise, les torsades de la poignée font écho à l'entrelacs des motifs émergeant en haut relief, saisissant dans un même mouvement les acteurs d'une saynète illustrant un adage tiré d'un proverbe Akan. A la rareté de l'iconographie, notamment dans la représentation des deux têtes opposées, s'ajoute le très grand raffinement des modelés, mis en valeur par la patine d'usage, brune et profonde, brillante sur les parties saillantes. Il a conservé son coussinet en tissu.
