Set with foiled back fancy-shaped rose diamonds, foiled back cabochon rubies, colourless sapphires, spinels and tourmalines, hardstone beads and seed pearls, the reverse decorated with floral and foliate polychrome Jaipur enamel, length adjustable from approximately 670mm to 860mm, a few small beads and pearls deficient.

Condition

Ruby of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin will be required before import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Accompanied by Gem Tech Lab report no. 10-B-2078 stating that the sautoir is set with pear-shaped cabochon rubies, sapphires (colourless), tourmalines and spinels. The corundum shows no indications of heating and one ruby is dyed. The diamonds and the pear-shaped cabochon stones are foiled back. Pearls of a cream to creamy body colour, with typical blemishes. Rubies with typical crystal inclusions, some surface reaching, some nicks and scratches. Diamonds of various clarity. Loss to enamel. A few small seed pearls and hard stone beads deficient. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with age. In good condition.
