Attractive Natural pearl and diamond necklace/tiara, circa 1900

Description

Designed as graduated open work garlands of floral and foliate motifs, highlighted with seven pearls measuring from approximately 11.6 to 15.4 mm, millegrain-set with rose, cushion-shaped and circular-cut diamonds, length approximately 250mm, accompanied by three screwdrivers, a uniform line of collet-set circular-cut diamonds with screw fittings length approximately 178mm, a pendant fitting. The tiara may be detached in five parts and worn as a diadem, a smaller tiara or as a pendant on a fine chain, further accompanied by an associated burgundy leather and cream velvet tiara case holding two more fittings.

Condition

French assay marks and maker's mark EB. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 25.00-30.00 carats, the principal diamond on top weighing approximately 2.50 carats, gauged and graded in mounting. Bright stones well matched, I-K colour, VS-I clarity on average. Slightly baroque pearls half-drilled, body colour ranging from yellowish white to creamy with some natural blemishes, medium to good lustre. For further indications on the pearls please refer to SSEF 2008 report duplicate. Some scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear, few minor traces of repairs to reverse. One screwdriver with ivory handle. In overall good condition, well preserved. Tiara case early 20th century, but not original, later associated.
