Condition

The panel was recently treated: loose rosewood veneer strips were reattached and an ash support stretcher was attached to the frame to keep the panel flat. Several screws were added to the existing array to pull the panel flat against the frame. Two rosewood strips were missing small sections of veneer on the edge. These were filled with strips of rosewood veneer and toned to blend in. Otherwise, the rosewood veneer is in good condition, with minor losses of wood splinters along the edges of the veneer strips. The veneer surface is untreated and shows normal oxidation of the wood. This condition report has been provided courtesy of Fine Wood Conservation
